Jason Mitchell
President and Cofounder
Jason is the President, and heartbeat of Pool Craft. You’ll often find him in the office when the sun rises, he’s at his best in the morning.
Fueled by a passion for the industry (and humour), Jason’s approach to Pool Craft is putting people first, with a constant drive to improve, and grow. He leads his teams by empowering them, being available to them, and working with them to ensure each and every client has a unique, positive experience, that radiates Pool Craft quality.
In his own words:
Best part of your job: Every day is different
Background: I grew up in pools. After completing my undergrad at Brock University, I returned to work for my dad’s pool company, managing the store. I eventually opened a satellite location where in-ground pool sales were the primary focus. In 2004, I branched out within the industry, and became the District Sales Manager for a large Canadian buying group. My focus was business development strategies, improving profits for over 70 pool businesses across Canada. This was so educational for me, seeing firsthand how these businesses ran across the country, and where there was room for improvement. in 2007 I took all this knowledge and teamed up with one of the most esteemed, methodical, and precise pool builders I knew, and together we purchased Pool Craft.
Favourite Liner Pattern: Grey Brighton
Favourite backyard product: I love the modern clean look – can’t go wrong with a rectangle pool / large seating area / outdoor cabana with heat source so you can enjoy during all 4 seasons.
Where you’ll find me when I’m not working: My family is my foundation. You’ll find me with my wife Andrea, our son Ethan, and our Golden Retrievers (who also works in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the winter… and by work, I mean hitting everyone up for belly rubs.)
Favourite saying: If you’re not first, you’re last – Ricky Bobby
Favourite movies: Goodfellas, Old School, Young Guns… I like movies with great lines I can quote and requote… and nickname people after, hahaha.
Favourite band: It’s got to be The Tragically Hip. Great Canadian band that can be listened to in any environment, or mood.
Hobbies include: Hockey, Golf, Fitness, Reading
Jim Perkins

Learn More About Jim Perkins
Jim Perkins
Vice President and Cofounder
Jim is the Vice President and co-owner of Pool Craft. He is a “boots on the ground” kind of owner, with a meticulous eye that has made quality synonymous with the Pool Craft brand. You will find Jim quietly running the show on site, early in the morning, late into the evening, but definitely not on the weekend…
There is no aspect of any pool build that goes under the radar, and that is because of Jim’s hands on approach to every job.
In his own words:
Best part of your job: Sleeping In. (apparently Jim is a comedian also). The best part is seeing a space transform. I’m on site in the beginning and throughout the pool build, but when landscaping and carpentry take over, I move on. So, when I head to a jobsite once it’s complete the finished product always wow’s me.
Background: I have been building pools for 30 years. I think I’ve built over 3,000 pools. Back in the day, I started out working for a local builder with a great reputation. I learned early on that I have an eye for quality and am a bit meticulous. I took what I could from that experience and eventually went out on my own. I evolved with the product and mastered my skills; I’m a bit of a perfectionist. Paperwork isn’t my thing, so when Jason and I started talking about partnering and purchasing Pool Craft it was a great opportunity for both of us to do what we loved.
Favourite Liner Pattern: Grey Brighton
Favourite backyard product: I think a Cabana makes the backyard. Some place to drink (laughing).
Where you’ll find me when I’m not working: You will definitely find me at the cottage. My wife Sandy and I entertain all weekend long. We also built a new pool last year, so when we’re not up north, we spend a lot of time in the backyard with our kids. They have kind of taken it over with their kids, which means more entertaining and family time, it’s great.
Favourite Snack: I’m a sweet and salty guy, so I’m easy to please. Grill cheese sandwiches and anything with peanut butter gets my vote!
Favourite band: I like classic rock
Hobbies include: We love to travel and scuba dive down south. When we’re up north in the winter you’ll find us out on our Ski-doos. We’re outside all year round.
