FAQS
Weekly testing works for most backyard pools, but the best bet is to test your pH and chlorine levels at least twice per week. Chlorine should be fed continuously through a chemical feeding device to maintain a consistent level.
Generally it is safe to use your pool after chemicals have dispersed throughout the pool, usually 15 minutes to one hour. If shocking your pool, wait until the chlorine levels drops to recommended levels.
Tile is placed around the perimeter of the pool because it is a surface that can be easily cleaned. There are many tile cleanser products available which are applied with a scrubbing pad or brush. Remember to never use abrasive cleaners on a vinyl pool. You can also try to frequently clean the inside of the skimmer. You can also use an enzyme product such as Natural Chemistry’s Pool Perfect Klear that eliminates oil, lotions and organics in pool and hot tub water.
Depending on the size of your pool, filtration equipment, and heating requirements, your energy driven equipment may operate up to 12 hours per day to properly circulate your water for effective filtration. A small increase in efficiency can yield larger savings later; therefore, the right pool equipment is essential to your power bill. Whether you're building a new pool or replacing existing equipment, your equipment selection can save you a significant amount of money in the long run.
Just like choosing a paint color for a room in your home, making a choice of liner pattern for your pool is a very personal choice. Many patterns are available to suit your decorative preferences. Ask yourself: what are the colors surrounding my pool? The colors of the coping, deck, house, and patio furniture are important considerations in selecting a pattern that ties into your backyard decor. Ultimately, selecting the 'best pattern' is part of the fun of owning a vinyl liner pool, so enjoy the opportunity to design your pool to your personal taste.
It depends on the type of coping and the age of the liner. If the liner is still pliable you can slightly lower the water level and then use a kettle of hot water or heat gun to heat the liner and carefully stretch the liner back into the track and use a liner lock to hold the liner in the track. Liner lock is available at some pool stores. Note be very careful doing this. I would not attempt this on an older liner.
A saline (saltwater) sanitization system provides on-site production of the sanitizer necessary to maintain water in a safe, healthy and algae-free condition. Sanitizer is produced automatically, within the water itself, and involves no handling, storage or adding of chemicals to the water. A saltwater system, properly sized for its application, will eliminate the need to purchase sanitizing chemicals such as – pool chlorine, algaecides and shock chemicals.
You should always agree on a detailed budget and estimated timeline before you sign a contract with a professional pool builder. Obviously, unforeseen factors can alter the schedule and sometimes impact the budget. For example, weather, customer change requests, permit delays, etc. can all affect the project, but a good builder will communicate and coordinate with you throughout the project to ensure successful pool construction and complete customer satisfaction.
